We are two mums living in two different countries. We share the same passion for the Arabic language and the same desire to teach it to our multilingual children, helping them embrace their cultural heritage. Ours paths have (virtually) crossed during the difficult times of covid-19.
I’m Hanna Lenda, a designer. I launched Daradam in 2016, a French based company dedicated to producing sustainable games and toys in Arabic, bringing together the educational and pedagogical aspects with beautiful and timeless design.
I’m Hala Gharib, a translator who had worked as an insurance broker, a research consultant and Arabic teacher for kids. I launched Alaabi (which means “my toys”) in 2019, a UK based company that produces toys for children to help them learn Arabic in a fun setting. Going forward, I will nurture the legacy from Daradam merging it with Alaabi and run it as a one business.
Daradam by Alaabi is now dedicated to the creation of enriching and high quality educational toys and games that make learning the Arabic language fun.
Daradam by Alaabi products will help develop children’s curiosity and cognitive skills, creating an immersive environment that complements the language(s) spoken at home. These educational tools have been designed with parents and teachers to be used both at school and with family and friends.
Daradam By Alaabi has internationally renowned manufacturing partners and a vast network of resellers around the world.
